Garleeks - Boldly Grown Farm, Bow, WA - Introducing the newest allium! As much as I want to write Garlique, per its name, garleeks marry the sweetness of leeks with the mellow, nutty notes of garlic. Use the whole thing—tops and all—sautéed, grilled, or raw.

Purple Bell Peppers - Boldly Grown Farm, Bow, WA - These beauties are most similar to a green bell pepper, but slightly sweeter. Crisp and crunchy, they can be enjoyed raw or cooked, though they become milder and lose their purple color when heated.

Zucchini - Hedlin’s Family Farm, La Conner, WA - Summer’s favorite squash is here! Whether grilled, sautéed, or baked into muffins, zucchini is a versatile veggie that shines in both savory and sweet dishes.

Carrots - Ralph’s Greenhouse, Mount Vernon, WA - Crisp, sweet, and full of summer flavor, these freshly pulled carrots are great for snacking, roasting, or adding a pop of color to your favorite dishes.

Radicchio - Ralph’s Greenhouse, Mount Vernon, WA - With its compact, maroon leaves, radicchio provides a unique flavor that is bold, delightfully bitter, and slightly spicy. Add it raw to a salad with mild and sweet fixings to complement its bitter notes, or try it cooked to create a mellow and pleasant, yet complex, flavor profile.

Green Curly Kale - Spring Time Farm, Everson, WA - With its ruffled leaves and rich flavor, this sturdy kale is great sautéed, tossed into soups, or massaged into a hearty salad.

Kohlrabi - The Crows Farm, Mount Vernon, WA - With a flavor somewhere between radish and broccoli, this quirky-looking veggie has a mild, slightly sweet crunch that’s great raw in slaws or roasted until caramelized.

Celery - Westwind Organics, Carnation, WA - Most commonly used in salads, cooked in soups and stews, or juiced, this mild and crisp veggie can do it all!
